Thank you for entering the CLWF – Giant of a Swim – 1mile swim.
This year we are delighted to bring the event back to its origins at Camlough lake. Since 2014 the event has been a great success with over 150 swimmers and ranging from 12 yrs to 80 plus yrs. We welcome one and all wetsuit and skins.

Camlough Lake is situated just outside Newry. If approaching on the motorway from Dublin or Belfast take the turn off for Newry / Camlough and is the same turn off for the Hospital and Train Station.
Follow the signs for A25 Camlough (away from Newry). Camlough village is approx. 2.5miles from the motorway. Go through Camlough village, take first left after the petrol station sign posted for Crossmaglen / Silverbridge. Lake is 1 mile along this road.
Parking:
There are currently building works at Camlough lake. Please park on the roadside before the lake and not along the lakeside road. Please allow time for a short walk to the registration area and lake.
Event Briefing:
Event briefing and information will take place 15 mins prior at the lakeside. If you miss this you will not be allowed to enter.
Juniors – under 18 must have the disclaimer signed by a parent or guardian and be both confident and competent to swim the course.

The swim:
Water safety is paramount at Camlough Lake. There will be lifeguards, safety boats and kayaks in the water to offer you a pleasant start to your race.
FINISH LINE – make sure you touch the yellow buoy
Swimmers should be capable of swimming the distance in open water conditions. Train for the worst and hope for the best!!
Spectators:
Spectators are more than welcome. Our events are all run by volunteers. If you have spectators attending willing to do some small jobs, we always appreciate a helping hand.
Prizes:
Prize giving will shortly be after the event. Prizes will be awarded for each age category.
